Mary Quite Contrary by Naomi 'Brigid' Gill

My Mom married Pepe LePue. Why ... is a question Dad still asks himself from time to time. ^_^

I debated for a while about doing this stip since Valentine's Day has got to be my least favorite holiday.

Check that, it's my most *loathed* holiday. I can't stand those heart-shaped candies with the weird phrases on them or the media outporing of face-eating programming (is that supposed to be *kissing*?). If I ever get another card saying "will you be my Valentine" I think I may puke.

Remember elementary school when everyone was required to give everyone else Valentines? I suppose the idea was that it'd spare the unpopular kids' feelings if they got the same number of Valentines as everyone else. I don't know about the other kids, but that plan totally backfired with me.

Valentines = trite phrases utterly devoid of meaning on cards festooned with pink hearts.

So why did I go with this episode? Because my (er, Mary's) parents' relationship offered so many ways to mock the standard portrayal of this day. Besides being a great excuse to introduce their relationship. Honestly, I can't think of two people more in love with each other. They just have a very interesting way of showing it.
