Mary Quite Contrary by Naomi 'Brigid' Gill
Okay, seriously now. I rather doubt that gym class is a top 5 contributor to childhood inactivity. Top 10, maybe.
No, really. What kid is going to think exercise is fun when this is the official workout routine in school? Can any 11-year-old girl do 32 pull-ups in one minute? I'm not making that up, by the way. I may be off by two or three reps, but I'm not making that up. The teacher from my elementary school was nuts about these idealized statistics for what kids are supposed to be able to do. That and basketball. Boy, was she crazy for basketball.
Oh, and you may have noticed the little rating announcement at the top of the page. ^^; Personally, I think MQC falls under PG at most, but if I'm to go strictly by the ratings definitions, well, violence and partial nudity don't get mentioned until PG-14 and Mary has already decapetated an imaginary dragon. Let me asure you, though, that MQC will not display anything worse than what you're likely to find in the Sunday funnies of your local paper.
